\"and this is what he did miracles for our ancestors and the request is that he be 'also at this time etc.'\" \n \n \n for hours on end, the rebbe stood on his feet and gave the audience the ma'amar containing the bills of charity. \n \n \n  \n \n \n \n \n on shabbat parashat beshalach, the rebbe mentioned the chaluka of the kuntres, explaining that the chalukah would encourage its study in particular, and the torah in general, and would also constitute an acceleration of true and complete redemption. רבותינו הקדושים הוכתר... לרבי עליהם\"  \n רקע: שנת תש\"י בחודשים שלאחר הסתלקותו של הרבי הריי\"צ הייתה שנת סערה בחב\"ד. חשובי החסידים ניסו בכל דרך אפשרית להביא לכך שהרבי יקבל על עצמו את הנשיאות למרות סירובו. לאחר פעולות שונות החליטו חברי אגו\"ח בארה\"ק בראשותו של רבי חיים אליעזר ע\"ה קרסיק לארגן כינוס מיוחד בו יחתמו על כתב התקשרות. אל הכינוס שחלק ממנו היה תחת הכותרת \"הצעות בדבר חיזוק ההתקשרות\" הגיעו כאלף מרבני, משפיעי וחסידי חב\"ד מכל הארץ. הכינוס נפתח בהקראת המברק שהגיע מהרבי שתוכנו מופיע במכתב זה, ואז קם הרב קרסיק ולאחר שסקר את פעילות אגו\"ח אמר: \"מרן רבי מנחם מענדל שניאורסאהן שליט\"א מגזע רבותינו הקדושים הוכתר על יד חסידי חב\"ד פה בארץ ובחוץ לארץ לרבי עליהם\". בתום הנאומים הוקראו ההחלטות, שהמרכזית שבהן הכריזה על \"הרב מנחם שניאורסון כנשיא חסידי חב\"ד\", ואף נשלח מברק לרבי בשם עבור מכתב הניחום שנשלח ע\"י הרב וייס, וניכרת סערת הזמן בדברי הרבי \"קשה עדין הכתיבה ומענה על מכתבים בכלל, ובפרט הכתיבה ע\"ד ההסתלקות, כי מי ינחמנו ובמה נתנחם\". \n  \n מכתבים דומים למכתב זה נדפסו באגרות קודש (ח\"ג עמ' רל\"ט) ובליקוטי שיחות (חי\"א עמ' 206), אולם התוכן בהמשך המכתב שלפנינו לא ראה עדיין אור עולם ולא נדפס עד היום! התוכן הינו משמעותי בכך שעוד טרם קבלת הנשיאות ובפרט בתקופת האבל על
